Informed consent in clinical practice

A discussion about informed consent and some clinical cases that highlight some of the complicated areas of consent. Including getting consent under pressure, and consent for student involvement.

Professor Lynley Anderson works at the Bioethics Centre, University of Otago where she teaches health professional students on ethics and professional development. She has been chair of the ethics committee for the HRC and served for 6 years on the Ethics Committee for Assisted Reproductive Technologies (ECART). 

Recently, she has been involved in writing guidance on informed consent for student participation in patient care.
