This workshop will be led by Alison Deslandes, an internationally recognised specialist gynaecological sonographer and researcher known for advancing the role of ultrasound in endometriosis diagnosis and education. With over two decades of clinical expertise and a passion for upskilling clinicians, she delivers engaging, practical workshops that bridge imaging, surgery, and patient-centred care.
Expert Fellow voice will be offered as part of the programme by Dr Michael Wynn-Williams (Gynaecologist, Advanced Laparoscopic Surgeon, Endometriosis and Pelvic Pain Specialist), Dr Guy Fisher (Specialist Gynaecologist, Advanced Laparoscopic and Endometriosis Surgeon), Dr Chloe Frei (Gynaecology Specialist with advanced training in Endometriosis and Gynaecological Ultrasound).

Alison Deslandes
Specialist Sonographer - Endometriosis Researcher
Alison is the immediate Past-President of the Australasian Society for Ultrasound in Medicine and has served on the ASUM board of Directors since 2018. She is an Early-Career Research Ambassador with the World Endometriosis Society and an Associate Editor for the Journal of Medical Imaging and Radiation Sciences. In 2022 she was awarded a Fellowship of the Australasian Sonographers Association.
Dr Michael Wynn-Williams
Lead Minimally Invasive Gynaecological Surgery, Endometriosis and Pelvic Pain Specialist
Dr Michael Wynn-Williams is a New Zealand gynaecologist with extensive clinical experience in both New Zealand and Australia, specialising in minimally invasive gynaecological surgery and the management of endometriosis. He has been Auckland-based for the past five years and works across public and private health services.
Dr Wynn-Williams is the first New Zealander to serve as President of the Australasian Gynaecological Endoscopy and Surgery Society (AGES) and has held numerous senior leadership roles in clinical governance, service development, and surgical education. He has been closely involved in establishing advanced laparoscopic and fellowship training programmes and has a sustained focus on improving access, quality, and equity of care for patients with complex gynaecological conditions.

His clinical practice sits at the intersection of endometriosis and fertility, with high-quality ultrasound integrated into every consultation.
Dr Chloe Frei
Specialist Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, Clinical Lead - Women's Health Ultrasound
Chloe is Clinical Lead for Women's Health Ultrasound at Wellington Regional Hospital and a member of Wellington Regional Hospital Complex endometriosis multi-disciplinary team. She is involved in training registrars and sonographers in the detection of deep infiltrating endometriosis and in her spare time is a busy Mum of three beautiful kids!
